MAKEMO – The Lost Paradise Beach Hoe
Just an hour and a half's flight from Tahiti, on a 12-hectare private estate set alongside a sumptuous lagoon-side white sand beach. Come and enjoy an immersive experience as close as possible to the inhabitants of Makemo Atoll, also known as the Atoll of Perfection!
The property has a total of 10 bungalows. You'll stay on a half-board basis in one of the 4 beach-side units. Your host will meet you at the airport in the traditional Polynesian way. Airport transfer to the bungalow is offered to all travellers.
Your bungalow has a bedroom with a double bed and a private shower room with WC and hot water (solar). For your comfort, a mosquito net will protect you from our insect friends.
Direct access to the beach and lagoon from your bungalow. Kayaks, paddleboards, small fishing gear, snorkelling equipment and bicycles are available to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Set off to discover the marine treasures by kayak or snorkelling, with a multitude of tropical fish nestling in the magnificent coral spats, or try your hand at shore fishing... Makemo is renowned for its extraordinary wealth of marine life!
Half-board includes: a continental breakfast and a 3-course island-style dinner. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions; we will do our best to accommodate you.
A lounge area with television is available to travellers, as well as a bar where you can order drinks (not included). The restaurant will welcome you for your meals. For lunches that are not included, you can order snacks from your host and pay an extra charge before you leave. A washing machine is also available free of charge.

- Bring your reef shoes, mosquito repellent, UV protection and a pair of sunglasses.
- There is no internet connection! Take this opportunity to disconnect and take some quality time for yourself, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

- Visit the site of Napahere with a tour of the Whale Hole.
- Visit the picturesque village of Pouheva: the lighthouse, the quays, the local crafts...
- Toetoe hunting, a fun evening activity. Discuss it with your host when you arrive.
- Scuba diving in the atoll's passes.

Makemo, the third-largest atoll in the Tuamotus, extends its lagoon over 65 km from north-west to south-east, with a width of between 5 and 8 km. Located 500 km east of Tahiti, the island is gradually emerging from the shadows thanks to tourism.
Boasting natural gems such as an exceptional seabed, preserved motus, the peaceful village of Pouheva and the enigmatic ghost village of Punaruku, Makemo offers a diversity of unique experiences. The inhabitants, who make their living from fishing, copra and pearl farming, have seen the atoll evolve into a commercial and administrative hub within a community of 11 atolls.
Makemo is steeped in history, and was once the site of the exploits of the hero Moeava, and is home to the legendary "Mokorea" mermaids. Discovered in 1803 by Buyer and charmed in 1926 by navigator Alain Gerbault, Makemo is nicknamed the "atoll of perfection" for its emerald lagoon, peaceful atmosphere and many attractions, making this destination a dream at the end of the world.
